Day surgery services provide patients requiring minor surgery the convenience of not staying overnight while still receiving specialised care by highly skilled specialists and nursing staff.

Day procedures that may be carried out could include diagnostic gastrointestinal, dentistry and minor gynaecological surgery, or any minor surgical procedure that your specialist feels could be carried out as a day procedure.

You will be guided through the process by the hospital staff and when you are discharged you will be provided with a discharge summary outlining details of any special care you may require, as well as your follow up appointment with your doctor.

When your recovery is complete, our nursing staff will provide you with a Discharge Summary containing details of any special care you may require, as well as details of a follow up appointment with your doctor. This summary also outlines some general rules to be observed following your procedure.

You will be discharged into the care of an adult to accompany you home and stay overnight with you. Until then, we strongly advise that you should not:

  • Travel on public transport
  • Make important decisions or sign any legal documents
